About Me

Hi, I’m Declan. I’m a UX designer and conversion-focused thinker who enjoys solving problems and creating digital experiences that feel effortless for both users and businesses.

I’ve always been drawn to the blend of creativity and logic. When I discovered UX, it clicked instantly: a role where I could understand people, remove friction from their journey, and design clearer, more intuitive paths forward. That curiosity later expanded into conversion optimisation and SEO, giving me a rounded perspective on how design, content, and performance all shape user behaviour.

Most of my experience comes from working with small to medium-sized businesses across different industries. I enjoy digging into analytics, identifying opportunities, and turning insights into prototypes and real experiments. Measuring the impact of thoughtful design decisions is what motivates me, and I aim to connect every idea to a clear outcome.

One project I’m particularly proud of involved redesigning the buying journey for a U.S. retailer importing British food for expats. I improved the product pages, cart experience, and checkout flow to make the process smoother and clearer for users. The results included:

• 11% increase in conversion rate

• 6% increase in average order value

• 29% increase in sessions completing checkout

• 38% increase in online revenue

For me, good digital experiences are clear, simple, and purposeful. I care about usability first and believe that removing noise and guiding people confidently through a journey will always outperform decorative complexity.

My approach is thoughtful and collaborative. I enjoy constructive feedback, and I value iteration more than trying to get something perfect on the first attempt. I work best when I have time to think deeply and anticipate challenges, while also contributing ideas and support in a team environment.

Outside of work, I like to keep life balanced by staying active and spending time outdoors. I enjoy running to reset, fishing and travelling to slow down, and gaming with friends to unwind and have fun.
